My idea for the Journal is to chronicle the stories behind the furniture pieces I work on.  Where did they come from? Why did I pick them? What condition were they in? What did I do to repair and restore them – e.g., the tools, methods and techniques. These might be longer versions of my Instagram feed listing new pieces for sale.

 I also envision delving into some topics that I hope will be of general interest, such as what to look for when buying a well-built piece of furniture; why wood joints fail; why you should not use nails or screws to repair loose joints; links to tips on simple finish repairs you can do yourself, etc.  I will also produce a periodic Q&A column if I get sufficient interest.
