The Blue Rocket [**SOLD**]

$0.00

This porch rocker really pops! The striking Royal Peacock blue color is a favorite of mine. The “pop-of-color” would work well on any porch, or bring a fresh vibe inside to your contemporary, modern, farmhouse, eclectic or even boho décor. This was my first foray into spray painting finishes with a new Rockler HVLP spray gun. The result is an ultra-smooth surface with none of the typical tell-tale brush marks of a hand applied finish.

The piece was in decent shape structurally when I acquired it: a couple broken seat slats that have been reglued so nicely that you likely can’t tell now which ones have been repaired. All the major joints have also been reglued. The old paint job was a flaking dirty white – a classic look you’ve seen a thousand times. I wanted to shake it up a bit and chose a color that would stand out a bit, and created a rocking chair in a cool color that nobody else has. To me, this rocker just seems right at home in my Takoma Park environs.

This is a solid wood rocker, but it is not a precious vintage antique. If you want to buy your friend or partner an extra special but inexpensive gift, this one-of-a-kind rocking chair is it. If you didn’t get what you wanted for Christmas, then indulge yourself and buy this beauty for yourself! To my followers who do not celebrate Christmas, it is still a very nice chair at a fair price – please consider whether you would like to have it for your own.

Dimensions: H 42" x W 23 ½” x D 29 ¾”; Seat 18” W x 16 ½” Deep, 15” High
