Mahogany Queen Anne China Cabinet [*SOLD*]

$0.00

This vintage mahogany china cabinet has been repaired, refreshed and is ready for a new home.

I’m finding I just love the combination of black paint and natural finishes on these vintage brown pieces. It will stand out beautifully in any room. The black elements, such as the broken-arch swan's neck pediment, the central finial, and the cabriole legs/bun feet contrast gorgeously with the book-matched crotch mahogany veneer drawer fronts and pediment facing. The mahogany is finished with clear satin lacquer. New minimalist black pulls add a modern flair.

When this piece was made, probably in the 1940-50’s, it was intended to show-off the family china. While you could display your dishes or crystal, its glass doors invite you to display beloved art objects, framed photographs, rare books, or as I staged it, to show off treasured collectibles. But you may want to use it as a bar: load the shelves with your stemware and wine and liquor. The drawers can hold barware accessories and linens. Or use it as a coffee bar-- remove the hinge pins and take off the glass doors entirely!Load your espresso & coffee makers, French presses, & related accessories—Voila! Custom coffee station.

I repaired & reglued several internal structural parts, repaired the lock, and made custom replacements for missing drawer and door moldings. The back inside of the cabinet is painted off-white to brighten whatever you display. The black trim is a durable satin enamel. This is a well-made piece with dovetail drawers made of solid oak. It’s a sharp-looking modernized cabinet that many people can envision in their home.I hope you’re one of them!
